Handmade ceramics techniques
Quality is for me the key-word. I use only the best of stoneware-clay to be sure that my customers will receive a high quality ceramics that can withstand normal use on an everyday basis. All my functional ceramic ware is 100 % hand made, even all the uniqe custom made dinnerware you can see in my ceramics web-shop.
After a long period of drying, the items are bisque-fired, then glazed, and next fired a second time at 1210c. This temperature is essential for ceramic ware in order to obtain a solid fusing between body and glaze. It makes the body very compact and ensures a final stoneware product of high quality. My satisfaction lays in creating durable and unique kitchenware which you can enjoy for years to come. Due to the hand made process there might be small variations in sizes and shapes of the pottery as well as the colour-nuances of the glazes. This can not be regarded as fault by any mean. On some of my handmade cups and mugs, I make an intentional"dimple" on the side, as I enjoy to emphasize its hand made character as opposed to machine-made. When that is the case, it will be mentioned under the specific product in my pottery online shop. Due to being handmade, all my functional ceramic pottery is custom made, and the items can as such also be created according to your special wishes. If you would like to buy handmade kitchenware like cups, bowls or plates, or even a whole dinner set, in a special shape or size, just ask and I will do my best to fulfil your wishes (this might involve extra costs). All glazes are lead-free and fit for food-use, and all my durable stoneware pottery is safe for microwave and dishwasher. |
